This is was a song that really came together in the studio. I had most of the lyrics down, but I knew it needed to be something special and to be set apart from the rest of the record. The cringe inducing, lo-fi opening to this song was a voice memo I left myself in the middle of the night before I went to bed and Sam made me put it in the song. I'm not happy with my vocals, but he is and I think we were right to add it.
lyrics
Arm in arm, we carry through
Armaments to the rescue
Broken glass rains down upon us
Marking our trail with breadcrumbs of blood
With each new bandage comes
Another designer wound
If the bones in your back should collapse
I’ll carry you on through the woods
Marking our trails with breadcrumbs of blood
Your pain has brought me purpose
But your friendship gave me life
We’ll never get out of the woods
And that’s fine

This album came out right as I began writing the music for We'll Never Get Out of the Woods. They are crucial to our existence as a band. A Night Without Monsters

After listening to Ysyry Mollvün, listening to Downfall of Nur was urgent and turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time: Umbras de Barbagia is simply magisterial; the atmosphere can hardly be compared to anything else. There is a deep, palpable connection to nature imbueing each very fibre of this record. The amalgamation of black metal and folk elements is done with a high intuition for detail and class, resulting in a highly immersive experience. Wonderful. David Fischer
