You fell asleep
And drifted into a coffin
With an alarm of sirens
You were exhumed
You always wore the stench of death
But I thought it was perfume
Shadow monsters
Voyeur ghouls
The siren songs of slaughter
Taunting from the walls
You tore the skin from your back
I saw your wings peaking through
So I bandaged them up
To keep the skies away from you
Did you see the light?
Or were you only dreaming?
Did I save you from bliss
To return to the slaughter?
Was this just a selfish attempt
To keep you underwater?
I still see an ache in your eyes
When you look to the sky
You look so pretty caged up
Where you’re not allowed to die
This album came out right as I began writing the music for We'll Never Get Out of the Woods. They are crucial to our existence as a band. A Night Without Monsters
After listening to Ysyry Mollvün, listening to Downfall of Nur was urgent and turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time: Umbras de Barbagia is simply magisterial; the atmosphere can hardly be compared to anything else. There is a deep, palpable connection to nature imbueing each very fibre of this record. The amalgamation of black metal and folk elements is done with a high intuition for detail and class, resulting in a highly immersive experience. Wonderful. David Fischer
